The Draeger X-zone 5500 is a stand-alone, wireless area monitor which is easily transported and quickly set up to provide a safe environment in any potentially hazardous area. It gives our customers working along pipelines, in oil fields, storage tanks, or any other expansive work site where dangerous gases could be present the peace of mind of full protection. Multiple X-zone 5500s work with your, 5100 and 5600 multi-gas detectors to create a wireless fence line of detection, with each portable unit communicating with other units up to 100 unobstructed yards away. X-am gas detectors sold separately. If no gases are detected, each of the units will flash a green light.

Should one of them encounter harmful levels of a gas, that X-zone sounds an alarm and flashes red. The units that aren't in direct contact with the gases will alert workers by sounding an alarm and flashing red and green LEDs. This way, while you may not be working near the gas leak, you'll know to find safety. Up to 25 X-Zone 5500 instruments can be connected at one time.
Despite it being incredibly portable, the Draeger X-zone 5500 was actually patented as a fixed gas detection system. You can plug one of the portable units in, or rely on the 24 ah battery version (5-1/2 days of operation) and not have to go through daily bump tests. The X-zone 5500 is great not just because of the greater coverage area, convenience, and safety, but because it utilizes some of the best gas detection sensors in the safety industry. Draeger sensors feature unmatched accuracy and detection capability, with resolution and readings that are more precise than any other on the market.
X-zone features the option for having an integrated pump. This new wireless gas detection beacon allows automatic zone monitoring where hazardous gases can be expected, thanks to the unique combination of an individual gas detector with an alarm amplifier . The warning system is very simple and clearly identifiable remotely by the operators. So even remotely, the LED green LED ring indicates that the air is free of toxic and combustible gases. If hazardous gases are detected, the color of the LED changes from green to red, providing a clear visual alarm that prevents the presence of the gases in question. In addition, an evacuation sound alarm is emitted at a high volume. The gas inlet on the Dräger X-zone 5500 is designed to allow gas diffusion in the Dräger X-am 5000, 5100 or 5600 on either side Up to 25 Dräger X-zones 5500 can be automatically interconnected to form a wireless detection barrier. This interconnection of the zone monitoring devices makes it possible to quickly secure large areas. In the event of a gas alarm, a Dräger X-zone 5500 transmits the alarm signal to all interconnected units. The main blinking red alarm in the 'mother' unit, which detects gases, differs from the blinking green / red alarms of the connected 'daughter' units, Alarm and position of danger. With the corresponding configuration it is possible to display the maximum concentration of gas measured throughout the monitored zone. Combined with the display of the identifier of the X-zone concerned, it is thus possible to locate the danger zone clearly and quickly.
